The Helmet of Salvation

Ephesians 6:17

‘Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:’ (KJV)

Some people think of the armour of God in Ephesians 6 as a work which they must do in order to live a good Christian life and see good results. Ephesians 6:10 declares, though, that the armour of God is not about what you do, but it is all about what Christ has already done for us. It is not standing strong in our own strength, but being ‘strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might’. (KJV) What exactly does it mean to be strong in the power of God’s might? – Ephesians 1:19-20 answers this perfectly, in stating that ‘…his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms’. (NIV) Simply put: being strong in the power of God’s Might is all about knowing, resting upon, and abiding in the great victory we have in Christ. It isn’t about standing firm in our own efforts to gain victory, it is standing firm in our already established victory in Christ, and seeing this victory made manifest in every area of our life by the power of the Holy Spirit, as we simply rest in the spiritual truths of the Gospel. We are seated in heavenly places, in perfect, full union with the risen Christ! 1 John 4:17 exclaims ‘as He [the risen Christ] is, so are we in this world’! (KJV)

This brings us on to the helmet of Salvation. The helmet of Salvation refers to a mind-set that embraces and sets itself upon the vast Salvation we have in Christ.  What is particularly beautiful is that the Greek word used for Salvation in this Scripture is much more detailed than our English word for salvation. It is the word ‘soteria’ which speaks not only of eternal life, but of ‘deliverance’ (from mental disturbance, fears, enemies, dis-ease, disease, and all evil), ‘preservation’ (being preserved ‘in’ the risen Christ in the here and now, sharing in all that He is and has, having heaven’s quality of life), and ‘safety’ (knowing we are so secure that nothing can threaten or intimidate us, because Christ is the Victorious One in us).

To put on the helmet of Salvation means that we allow the finished work of Jesus to protect our mind from the lies, accusations, and disturbances of the enemy. We set our mind on the things of the Spirit, knowing that the result of this is always ‘life and peace’ (Romans 8:6). This is so exciting to grasp, because God desires that our lives are filled with joy and wonder as we grow in understanding and believing the magnitude of this Good News (1 Peter 1:8). Right believing produces right emotions in our lives, and rids us of toxic, unhealthy emotions and thus unhealthy addictions too. As we put on the helmet of Salvation, we recognise that we are not trying to gain victory in our lives, we are already victorious, and will see this blessing of the Lord manifest. Wherever we go, whatever we do, when we are wearing the helmet of Salvation we will be ‘the head and not the tail, above and not beneath’ (Deuteronomy 28:13). We are not trying to achieve the helmet of Salvation, either, as it was a free gift of Christ, one that we can rest in and enjoy daily. Abide in the good news today and know that you have the mind of Christ, this helmet of Salvation! (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Real Repentance vs. Religious Repentance

Acts 3:19

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,” (NIV)

There is a big difference between life-filled spiritual realities and religious attempts at achieving something of godliness. Repentance is one of those things which, unfortunately, is used and distorted by religion to promote itself. The result is bondage and frustration. Real repentance though, biblical repentance, is a part of a healthy faith life; never let anyone tell you that it isn’t! However, we must understand what repentance truly is so that we can experience these times of refreshing spoken of in the above Scripture!

The previous verses in Acts speak of the apostles healing a man, enabling him to walk. Their response to this miraculous healing is: “Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? …By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know has been made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through Him that has given him this complete healing in your presence. And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders. But in this way God has fulfilled what He foretold through all the prophets, saying that His Christ would suffer” (Acts 3:12, 16-18, NIV).

Repentance therefore is recognising that the revelation of Jesus’ suffering means that we never have to suffer again, because we are included ‘in Christ’. It is recognising that we are immersed in glorious blessing, by virtue of our eternal union with Jesus, and free from every bit of the curse. Repentance is recognising the endless possibilities of heaven on earth through being co-united to Jesus Christ. – As we recognise who Jesus is (‘it is Jesus’ name…’), and who we have become in him (‘…and the faith that comes through Him’), we can access the refreshing, revitalising power of heaven. It is that simple! Repentance is turning from ignorance to imaginative, creative understanding of the glory realm that resides within us! Indeed, we have become the glory land of heaven! We are so flooded with glory that an understanding of this cannot help but saturate the world around us, too!

Embracing the Secret Centre of Your Life

By Paige Hunt

The Good News of Jesus Christ is that you have been elevated far above circumstances, memories, and do-to-be mentalities and definitions. You have been gifted with the mind of Christ, the heavenly consciousness, because you have been invited to move beyond the tree of the knowledge of good and evil:  from seeing everything through the eyes of ‘the fall’, to understanding and knowing yourself as you have always been known – in the 31wisdom of God’s heart. You were found in the Trinity before you were lost in the fall. Secure in Papa’s embrace – the substance of his imagination and heart. God has known you before you even knew yourself.

To truly grasp this you must first go to the garden within you – the original Eden – and rest there with Jesus in the cool of the day. You are a garden of pleasure to the Lord, his playground of intimate communion, and you contain the wisdom of God in a very specific, never-seen-before way. As you begin to enjoy this communion, the natural rhythm of your heart, you will know all things as Christ and see Christ in all things (Titus 1:15).

You did not begin at the moment of conception. You were designed and created as a secret garden of God, from before the foundation of the world. You were God’s mystery, kept hidden from the ages, until the moment of your birth. When you were born, so was another unique revelation of God – another flowing river of God’s inspiration, another seamless canvas on which God paints and imagines and dreams in a unique and special way – as you follow your inspired heart, you express Jesus upon this earth in a way that no one else can. You can see, hear, and know God’s Spirit in a way that no one else was designed to.

“We are all meant to be mothers of God…for God is always needing to be born” – Meister Eckhart

This is why Ephesians 2:10 expresses that we are God’s workmanship, or, more accurately, his poem. The original word used was ‘poiēma’. You are God’s poem, and a poem is defined as ‘something which arouses strong emotions because of its beauty’. Through you, God exists in a unique way. He pours out his beauty in specific colours and textures through you. You are God’s altered state of consciousness, his alternative state of being – a specific mind-altering substance of Jesus, just as he is your wine of wisdom. You two flow and dance together in the holiest of communions, and reveal heaven on earth in a wild, wondersome way. You are the future – the unfolding Tomorrowland of God’s new age. You 32can experience this divine communion in all things, at all times – every expression of desire and pleasure within and through your natural personality is the experience of God’s divine personality and nature. It is the living, breathing word of God – those currents of Spirit-breath pulsating through you.

“The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me; my eye and God’s eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love” – Meister Eckhart

At the dawn of creation the Trinity were frolicking together, enjoying the creative heaven of their love. Their love has always been a vital, refreshing, alive union of creativity, song, beauty, and vast lovedrunken expressions – life overflowing spontaneously into many springs of inspiration – into the elixir of life, that secret stream of inspiration that began to flood into matter – creating earth and trees, animals and plants. God loves expressing himself in these things, flowing through these things in frequencies and vibrations. The dance of life. The atmosphere was one of play and worship – everything that is seen came into being through God’s eureka moment – his unseen enthusiasm that shaped all things. And God was so happy, so content. God is so satisfied and fattened on the beauties and glories of the material realm; it is not in opposition to his nature, it is seamlessly one with his Spirit-life.33

God is a dreamer. He is imagination and practicality. And it seemed good to the Trinity to express themselves in physical matter – a land of enchantment flowing with milk and honey. His garden universe vibrates complete. Conception was so exciting to the Trinity.

Steve Mcvey’s book ‘Beyond an Angry God’ expresses this articulately:

“The divine dance of the Trinity exists outside of time and space in the eternal now. Time is an illusory phenomenon among human beings that appears to be sequential and measured by a succession of happenings. In the eternal realm, everything is simultaneous and all exists in “the now”. There is no tomorrow to God. He doesn’t wait in anticipation for anything to happen because he already knows it all at once, and that includes you. There has never been a time when you were not known and treasured as precious to God. God told Jeremiah, ‘before I formed you in the womb I knew you’. (Jer. 1:5). Later He told him ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love’ (Jer. 31:3). The word everlasting points not only toward an unending duration in the future but also to ancient times long ago. To be exact, it points to a state outside of time…The quality of love shared among the members of the Trinity has always been perfect. Divine love can be nothing less than perfect love. In the beauty of the eternal plan, this love finds greater expression in quantity, not quality….”

The wisdom of the Trinity was excited to express themselves in a unique way through creation and ultimately through you. God shares his consciousness in unique colours, flavours, and patterns through your natural personality and inspired heart. God wants to experience this life, this secret garden of his imagination within you. As Song of Solomon depicts it, it is a garden of intimate love and lofty delights. Every pleasure is him experiencing pleasure through you, and you experiencing the pleasure of him experiencing34 life through your eyes – he wants you to know as you have always been known. This is an experiential knowing. The wisdom of what God has always known to be true concerning us.

“He associated us in Christ before the fall of the world! Jesus is God’s mind made up about us! He always knew in his love that he would present us again face-to-face before him in blameless innocence. [God found us in Christ before he loved us in Adam]” – Ephesians 1:4 (MIRROR WORD translation).

The message which Francois du Toit so beautifully articulates in the Mirror Translation is further expounded upon in Romans 1:17:

“Herein lies the secret of the power of the Gospel; there is no good news in it until the righteousness of God is revealed! The dynamic of the Gospel is the revelation of God’s faith as the only valid basis for our belief. The prophets wrote in advance about the fact that God believes that righteousness reveals the life of our design [The good news is the fact that the cross of Christ was a success. God rescued the life of our design…It is not about what man must or must not do but about what Jesus has done! Gods faith in you, rubs off on you! It is from faith to faith, and not man’s good or bad behaviour or circumstances].”

This is the reason that Christ is so precious to us. It is only through Christ’s faith revealed in us in our mystical co-crucifixion, co-burial, and co-resurrection with him, that we can begin to understand God within our own humanity. Christ reveals to us the mystic garden of our spirit and how this is in harmony with our personality. He reveals that God was not a stoic list of rules and regulations, but a caring, gentle, humble, compassionate Father – the gardener of creation, the tender Presence of harmony, tranquillity and blessings who loves expressing himself through natural life. Christ reveals that God is good with no bad, and that we were enemies of God only within our minds. Indeed, the fall of man happened 35.jpgwithin our minds. God showed up in the playground of our hearts after man had eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and he said

“Where are you???”

It was us who had become darkened and distorted in perception. As Meister Eckhart has said, “God is at home, it is we who are in the far country”.

Yet as we begin to awaken to the Gospel message we transcend the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, pride and shame, nourishing ourselves on do-to-be mentalities and legalistic dynamics and dimensions. We begin to flow with the ease of the tree of life – we begin to awaken to melodies pure and authentic, breathing in the atmosphere of the fullness of God. You have the fullness of heaven’s vibrations right now. His love is your reality, your spirit-embrace. It makes you mellow from the core of your being until you can perceive heaven at one with everything in your life. Van Morrison in his song ‘And it Stoned me’, gives a wonderful description that can easily be seen as being relevant to this conversation:

“Half a mile from the county fair
And the rain keep pourin’ down
Me and Billy standin’ there
With a silver half a crown
Hands are full of a fishin’ rod
And the tackle on our backs
We just stood there gettin’ wet
With our backs against the fence…
Oh the water…
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like goin’ home
And it stoned me.
Then the rain let up and the sun came up
And we were gettin’ dry
Almost let a pick-up truck nearly pass us by
So we jumped right in and the driver grinned
And he dropped us up the road
We looked at the swim and we jumped right in
Not to mention fishing poles
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Let it run all over me
. On the way back home we sang a song
But our throats were getting dry
Then we saw the man from across the road
With the sunshine in his eyes
Well he lived all alone in his own little home
With a great big gallon jar
There were bottles too, one for me and you
And he said Hey! There you are
Oh, the water
Oh, the water”

As we begin to understand that we are ‘in Christ’, composed of the substance of his inspiration, of the dreams-come-true of beauty and creativity, we can experience God’s enjoyment of us and love in all things. This is also named ‘living under the smile of God’s approval’, or ‘practising God’s presence’. We can interact with the dynamics and ravenous enjoyment of Jesus in all things. Heaven is an atmosphere which is already within and all around us. Even your fond childhood memories are God’s photographs that reveal a unique, never-seen-before revelation of the God of Wonder and Joy. 36

John Crowder in his book ‘Mystical Union’ expresses this gleeful reality of what happens as we live from the secret centre of our lives:

“Isaiah 35 speaks of this reality. It says even the burning sands of the desert will turn into bubbling pools. If you’re in a desert right now, just cheer up! See it as a wonderful opportunity to become a sprinkler system. You get to turn the place into a garden! You are an oasis. You have rivers of living water flowing from within your inmost being….Try your best to exaggerate God’s goodness. He is always greater than your wildest imagination….Realise that the atmosphere of heaven is zipping through you continually. Your daily portion is to be drunk on love in this garden of delight”

Life is heavenly glory – sink into layer upon layer of God’s caressing, lavishly loving thoughts towards you. He is pure goodness –and this world is formed through the gooey goodness of his imagination. This is why you can see yourself as a divine human – a unique flavour of the Godhead expressing yourself in and through the reality of realities – Heaven on earth – the playground of divine humans!

“And my present life is not that of the old “I”, but the living Christ within me.” – Galatians 2:20

37.jpgYou were designed to be caught up into the paradise of God’s love – conscious of the creative beauties of Jesus. You have always been so much more than you have dreamt you are. Your independent existence is an illusion, one which causes you to live in uncomfortable, dull, inferior patterns. God has always known you intimately – he created you to be permeated with divine bliss, out of your earthly (ego) mind, and plugged into the consciousness of the Trinity, expressing themselves through you in unique ways. In the distilled Bible, Galatians 2:20 states that through Christ we enjoy a second existence which is simply Christ using our body!

The Gospel is such good news! It awakens us from self-consciousness (a lifestyle plagued by both pride and emotions of condemnation!) to the superior mode of being: Christ-consciousness.  Christ, in our flavours and colours, replaces the false, illusion ‘self’ at the centre of our lives. He lives through us and it feels and looks so much like us that we don’t know where he ends and we begins – we are one, infused with his life!  That old ‘I’ that brought us such dissatisfaction and guilt, that we were really struggling to overcome, has already died there in the revelation of Christ. God inhaled the old world at the cross, and in his resurrection he exhaled the new world of beauty and abundant life. As we soak into this mystical revelation, we too participate in the manifestation of this new life, a life which is our core essence and our substance.

“The very spring of our actions is the love of Christ. We look at it like this: if one died for all men then, in a sense, they all died, and his purpose in dying for them is that their lives should now be no longer lived for themselves but for him who died and rose again for them.” – 2 Corinthians 5:13-15 (Phillips)

Christ is the pure artesian spring of our inspiration and existence. We can live from this secret fountain within, flowing with this elixir of life in the bliss-filled garden of our 38Spirit-space. Once again Van Morrison lyrics are a brilliant metaphor for the secret garden of our Spirit.

“And I will stroll the merry way
And jump the hedges first
And I will drink the clear
Clean water for to quench my thirst
And I will never grow so old again
And I will walk and talk
In gardens all wet with rain
And you shall take me strongly In your arms again
And I will not remember
That I even felt the pain.
We shall walk and talk
In gardens all misty and wet with rain
And I will never, never, never
Grow so old again.
And I will raise my hand up
Into the night time sky
And count the stars
That’s shining in your eye
Just to dig it all an’ not to wonder
That’s just fine
And I’ll be satisfied
Not to read in between the lines
And I will walk and talk
In gardens all wet with rain
And I will never, ever, ever, ever
Grow so old again.
Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
Sugar-baby with your champagne eyes
And your saint-like smile….”

In this bliss of the secret place, everything that is not in harmony with the Christ-reality, the true reality, is dissolved and obliterated. This glory realm inside of us is the power of God, greater than any contradiction, and it makes every path of our lives straight and 39solves any and every issue. The wisdom of God is in the fountains of his love, in the heady beauty of his garden-heart. In the wonders of his whimsical imagination. As we rest in the secret garden of the heart we lean upon our lover, Jesus.

“Who is this coming up from the desert leaning on her lover?” – Song of Solomon 8:5

No self-effort is needed to flow with the Trinitarian wholeness; the gladness of their happy-glory.

Renewed Mindfulness

By Paige Hunt

“Your very next thought, feeling, or action can begin to uncover the deepest spiritual wisdom, which flows pure and free as mountain waters in spring” – Deepak Chopra

In Christ we have been planted into a whole new world. This world is the dimension of ‘being’ that Romans 6 invites us to bask and bathe in. It is the wisdom of the ages revealed in full clarity (John 4:24; Colossians 2:3). Instead of living from inferior mind-sets and22 desires, we can live from the heart and mind of heaven – the true pattern of our design. Our every cell bathes in heaven’s substance. Indeed, our substance is a unique flavour of Jesus. Repentance is not simply changing our own minds to believe this truth – it is going beyond an independent sense of ‘self’, to the flavoursome consciousness of Christ, expressing himself in unique and whimsical ways through you. It is sinking into a unique, satisfying, expressive-divine union with Christ.

“Well then, by virtue of undergoing baptism into death we were buried with him, in order that, as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father’s glorious power, we, too, might live and move in a new kind of existence” – Romans 6:4 (God’s New Covenant: A New Testament Translation)

We have been given a new quality of life, a new kind of existence in union with the Godhead; a divine-spiritual kind of humanity which is serenity, tranquillity, and garden-beauty. J.B. Phillips articulates this wonderfully, stating that in Christ an entirely new plane of existence, a new dimension of living, has opened up to us:

“We were dead and buried with him in baptism, so that just as he was raised from the dead by that splendid Revelation of the Father’s power, we too might rise to life on a new plane altogether. If we have, as it were, shared his death, let us rise and live our new lives with him! Let us never forget that our old selves died with him on the cross that the tyranny of sin over us might be broken—for a dead man can safely be said to be immune to the power of sin. And if we were dead men with him we can believe that we shall also be men newly alive with him” – Romans 6:4-8 (Phillips)

This kind of life is one of full immersion into the Godhead, where we can instantaneously access all of the atmospheric and practical virtues and blessings of God’s quality of life, no longer having to be dominated by any of those ancient habits and wrong ways of feeling, thinking, and being that we tried so sincerely to rid ourselves of. The problem was that we so falsely believed that this uninspired, dull, sin-way of living was our identity and the 23pattern of our design. Francois du Toit in the Mirror Bible accurately reveals to us that the power of Romans 6 lies in the fact that when we died, these false realities were completely eradicated from us, torn apart from our sense of consciousness, so that we could experience a new kind of fullness – the fullness of God’s nature and core-material. Francois states that the truth of Romans 6 “have set a new standard to become the pattern of your life; the grace of God ended sin’s dominance…consider your life now, there are no outstanding debts; you owe sin nothing! A life bonded to God yields the sacred expression of his character, and completes in your experience what life was always meant to be.” – Romans 6:17, 22 (Mirror Word)

The new reality which we experience through Christ results in consciousness-expansion, so that we can feel each aspect of us at rest, in the ease and lightness of the glory realm of God’s love – swimming in the psychedelic inspiration-colours and delicious abundance-aromas of heaven’s life. We are bonded to all of heaven, expressing the inspiration and composition of God naturally, through our personalities and hearts.  The river of life flowing within us once gurgled and slopped with a thick, murky sludge-like quality, glooping lazily through a garden of death, yet Christ was the mystic portal that transported us through the looking-glass of life, and now we are a dancing, living, fresh-pure stream, flourishing in a garden of life and lofty beauty. We are free, where we once were stuck in muddy, difficult mind-sets. We are in the ease of the Breath of life. 19

“…If we were planted into the garden of His death, surely we shall be planted into the garden of His resurrected life” – Romans 6:5 (Cotton Patch)

It is not simply that we ‘shall be’ – the context of Romans 6 reveals that we already are. Another way that Paul describes this is in Colossians 3:9-10:

“Seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds; and have put on the new man”

We are therefore instructed to SEE and BEHOLD the realities of Jesus to experience what is already true of us at the core of us, in the spiritual realm, in the here and now. Interestingly, the words for ‘put off’ and ‘put on’ in Colossians are the Greek words ‘ekduo’, and ‘enduo’. These words describe sinking out of one thing and into another. – We have sunk into his resurrection garden through resting in his love and faithfulness on our behalf! So to see this new life manifesting through our bodies and circumstances, all we have to do is keep on sinking into the glorious realities of the Father’s love for us! Rest into the cosy comfort of his detailed, lavish goodness.

Seeing this beautiful garden of our essence is the Father’s aromatherapy.

“The bliss of God is the essence of holiness itself. Many confuse holiness with the outward form of legalism or external religious activities. But holiness is not the absence of sin; it is the Presence of God. A lot of people think they are in God’s will because they have gotten rid of a lot of sin, but emptying out all of your bad stuff does God no favors. You can be empty of sin, but still be empty! Don’t be empty; instead get full of God! Being filled with the Spirit always produces fruitfulness and wonders…The more you drink His Presence, the more you believe what he has already done. The more you believe, the more virtue you manifest” – John Crowder, The Ecstasy of Loving God.

The Romans 6 reality is a great drink of, well, Reality! As you drink of the revelation of the resurrection of Christ, which is the Song of all songs, you begin to realise that forgiveness of sins is only one half of the Gospel – the entire power of God is in the revelation of our heady resurrection with Christ. A resurrection that has turned our whole world upside down – that has placed us in a new kind of existence. The Kingdom of God is at our fingertips, and it is not about words but it reveals that we bathe in, and are surrounded by, the POWER of God’s goodness and glory. His very essence flows through our veins. (1 Corinthians 4:20). This world is Jesus Christ, our all in all (Colossians 3:11). His Spirit of 20tranquillity is that mystic spring. The nourishing elixir of life. As Psalm 36 states, God ‘gives us to drink of the wadi of delights’. We are invited to simply sit in the Presence of God, free of religious obligations and stoic, religious ideas. To simply sit and drink up the new world.

“When anyone is united to Christ, there is a new world. The old order has gone, and a new order has already begun” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (New English Bible)

We are not simply planted in this world; we are also composed of it. Galatians 2:20 in the Distilled Bible says, ‘I consider myself as having died and now I am enjoying a second existence, which is simply Jesus using my body’. Your whole body is filled with the Presence of Jesus, flowing with this holy, heavenly, happy life of bliss. Indeed, our very breath is the ruah; the life-breath of God. The Kingdom of heaven is an experiential reality, and not some castle in the air.

“When you own your own breath, nobody can steal your peace” – Author unknown

Jesus calls us to enjoy his bliss through a conscious awareness that we are united with him at the core of us. We are breathing the Holy Spirit – the fullness of God in the here and now. Inhale the beauty of this whole new world, the creative inspiration, the endless paradise-harmony-pleasure, and you will effortlessly exhale the miraculous – divine renewal of youth, a sound mind, financial miracles. Allow yourself to feel those waves of his Spirit flowing through you. The abundance, health, and total well-being of his Presence within you – indeed, your very own Presence. You are in total oneness with this Presence. You are composed of the life of the Godhead. The peace that surpasses all 24understanding bathes your whole being – you were made for tranquillity. You are the glory cloud. You are the enchanted forest that invites you to explore endless prophetic depths.

As you realise that in your co-union with Christ, you are wholly holy, you will effortlessly flow with the frequencies of heaven – his energies and vibrations that speak life into your life. Sink deeper, sail further away on the waves of his love and grace, and see how deep the rabbit hole goes. We can sink into the satisfaction and lofty pleasure of God’s garden universe.  You have the fullness of heaven’s vibrations right now. Feel them – the wisdom is in the experience of God. The glory articulates the wisdom of God through your being, into your mind, into your emotions. Picture a hookah, an oriental water pipe, which draws the smoke through a bowl of water. The revelation of your co-union with Jesus Christ is an experiential Holy Spirit hookah. It flavours everything with the life of heaven.

The message of inclusion which the Gospel articulates to you is that everything about you and your perspective is ‘in Christ’, and in Christ, it is Glory Land. This is the reality of perfection, beauty, and abounding creativity – here, everything is inspiration. As Titus 1:15 18sings, ‘to the pure, all things are pure’. Your reality is purity in all-things. Allow yourself to sink into these realities, like a soothing, comforting bubble bath of aromatic fragrances. Allow yourself to enjoy the altered state of consciousness that the Gospel offers!

“There is another way; a breath of love that takes you all the way to infinity.” – Rumi

The Gospel of Jesus always gives us a deeper drink of life. Keep on drinking in this whole new world. Rest in this perfected garden of intoxicated serenity, breathing in the colours, sounds, and sights of this paradise garden of God. You have unlimited friendship with the Trinity! Unhindered union!

To human reasoning, perfection-bliss-creativity in the here and now can seem like insanity. It goes against the grain of human wisdom. But it truly remains the wisdom of the Father. The heavenly perspective of Jesus Christ, and all of his love and wonder is referred to in Scripture as the potent wine of God. God truly is a free Spirit of wild, untamed wonder. As 2 Corinthians 5:13 states, “if we are out of our mind, it is for God”.

Yes, let us be hedonists of God – lovers out of our minds, living from the mind of Christ – wonderland. Let us be drinkers of his pleasure, unable to resist the superior delights of enjoying this breath of life, and the altered state of consciousness it brings us, as we see that lie of an independent self utterly severed from our perceptions. The limitations we held within our vision – those threats and contradictions – melt like butter on a hot day. You can give up self-confidence and the lie of independent living and reasoning, to live care-free in the care of the Father. To live, move, and have your being in oneness with this whole new world. Your reality is the Trinity. You are a unique flavour of their life. They express themselves through you super naturally day-by-day as you flow in the inspiration of your mystical co-union with Christ.

Romans 12:2 highlights that the wisdom of God is there in renewed mind, and with it flows physical transformation as we begin to flow with the reality of this glory. This renewed mind is not something which we partially possess. We have within us the mind of Christ in its entirety. (1 Corinthians 2:16). As we rest, soak, and breathe in this new creation reality; a reality of unhindered union with the Godhead, the glory flows effortlessly. The mystical 25spring within us bubbles over with life and solves everything. Christ is all and in all – flowing, bubbling, babbling with glorious, beautifying simplicity! (John 7:38).

This whole world dances and prances, gushes and flutters with the wisdom of Christ. God loves to enjoy the reality of this cosmos. Each person, and all flora and fauna, are like different flavoured hookahs to the Christ. He loves to breathe in the flavours and inspired thought of his creativity. God is love-drunk on the reality of existence! Allow these truths to bring about a love-drunkenness in you, a jolly awakening to the endless abundance of life we have in Christ. He is layer upon layer of glorious goodness.

“Then I [wisdom] was constantly [or ‘was the artisan’/’was a little child’] at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing [or ‘playing’] always in his presence, rejoicing [or ‘playing’] in his whole world and delighting in mankind.” – Proverbs 8:30-31

This passage speaks of the Holy Spirit, our artistic, child-like Spirit of Wisdom. Our composition and love-flow. God is a God of child-like simplicity, of enthusiastic play and delight. He is a true artisan of freedom! You were created with God’s love-drunken nature. Your heart and mind are flooded with the colours, beauty, and playful delight of God! The wisdom of God is not stoic, it is aesthetic, delicious, and vibrant – it vibrates heaven’s frequencies throughout your whole being and plunges you into his emotions of bliss,26 as you re-connect with this revelation of Jesus Christ, the Gospel of heaven on earth. In this Gospel we can experience and discover the endless depths of wisdom and glory! (Colossians 2:3)

His mountain-water wisdom,
flowing within and throughout us,
giving composition to everything.

“And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 13:52

“Live each moment completely and the future will take care of itself. Fully enjoy the wonder and beauty of each moment.”- Paramahansa Yoganandya

“The Gardener, being as He is the Creator of water, pours it in without stint; and whatever the soul has not been able to collect in perhaps twenty years of exhausting intellectual effort, the heavenly Gardener gives it in a moment” – Teresa of Avila.

Redeemed From Negativity!

By Josh Hunt

Negativity is often rampant in our culture. Midst the positive thinking of leaders and organisations, of happy TV shows and good weather is often a deep rooted fear and pessimism. Most people don’t even realise that they are harbouring such negativity. People seem to live their life foreboding; terrified of the worst. In so many ways we are bombarded by negativity, and the humanistic positive thinking of leaders and comedies isn’t enough to change the way we think. What we need is bible hope! By bible hope I don’t mean faith in the bible, but rather the biblical definition of hope; confidence in grace, resting in God’s love (see Romans 5).

The church ought to be so filled with hope that springs forth from union that she promises constant positivity! However, this, at least on a global level, is not so. Many come to church only to hear more bad news than the world is spouting. In fact, in many church’s people hear the supposed bad news behind the bad news, i.e. (Read in angry preacher voice) “The economy is so bad because we are nearing the great tribulation!” It’s about time we throw out our terrible eschatological exegesis, get rid of our pessimistic expectation, and trust in the all-sufficient power of the gospel – the glory of effortless union with Christ!

Many believers don’t switch from mental/emotional negativity because they still believe they are connected to spiritual negativity! So many people don’t go on the journey of renewing their minds because they don’t know that they have anything worthwhile to renew their minds for. They don’t know what they have been delivered from and what they have been brought to. Once people understand that they have been ransomed from spiritual negativity they are then empowered to renew their mind from mental or emotional negativity! In order to grasp our freedom we must understand the power of Jesus’ finished work!

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” – Galatians 3:13

Jesus came to establish union with himself. That’s what the whole thing is about. Union. Jesus came to save us from our state of spiritual deadness, and to resurrect us to new life. Daddy saw the curse that spiritual death caused; poverty, sickness, depression, negativity etc., and came to save us. When Jesus came he kept him divinity, but he also stepped into fallen Adam, including the curse. Now, it’s important to know that Jesus didn’t just go along and act like Adam, no he fought every step of the way, never once sinning, manifesting the blessing instead of the curse, driving out evil. But, it is only death that would destroy ‘Adam’ forever. So, Jesus died. He died and killed everything that first Adam was, along with Spiritual deadness and the curse. Jesus on the tree declares publically that he became a curse for us! He became a curse and killed it. Jesus then resurrected a new type of human, a man created in spiritual light and life, created and established in the blessing.

The great news for us is that when we came into Christ we were included in his death, resurrection and accession. The glorious gospel declares that you and I are now free from first Adam too. We have died to sin, to spiritual deadness, to the curse (see Romans 6). The cross is sufficient!

Once we know that we have been freed from spiritual negativity; that every ounce of curse and evil died there with Jesus on that tree, we can start to renew our minds and see mental/emotional negativity turn to childlike trust and insurmountable joy! This is what Ephesians 4 encourages us to do…

“Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught , with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” – Ephesians 4:21-24

It is clear that Pauline revelation hinges on our participation in the finished work of Christ; that we have died to sin once and for all. Here, Paul contradicts not his gospel, but talks about our mental positioning in accordance. Paul does not say put off the old self as if it still spiritually exists, no Paul is very clearly referring to ‘the attitude (or spirit) of your minds’. In other words, Paul is encouraging believers to take of those thought patters that no longer fit, and put of beliefs that are true to the eternal reality of your death and resurrection in Jesus. When people know they are free from spiritual negativity they can put off mental and emotional negativity. They can, as Paul says in Colossians 3, set their minds of things above.

Mental negativity falls off us when we enjoy union with Christ. Jesus, in his earthly ministry, knew that negativity was no match to the supply of the Kingdom of God. Jesus knew that because he was connected to spiritual positivity he could ignore mental/emotional negativity. Jesus knew that his natural habitat was the supernatural! He knew that there was a supply and reality that could meet his every need! That’s why in Mark 5, when Jesus was about to go and raise Jairus’ daughter from her sickness, he ignores the negative voices of those in his close proximity. Mark 5 records that while Jesus was still speaking, men came from the house of Jairus reporting of the child’s death. Jesus ignored them, and the pressure of demand. Jesus ignored them because he was aware of his Fathers grand Kingdom of supply, where even death is subject to change.

Perhaps you feel surrounded by demand? Do like Jesus and ignore the negative voices. The Amplified Bible says Jesus overheard, but ignored. Do the same, you may hear the negative voices of demand, but ignore them. Instead focus on the glorious Kingdom of Daddy God, a Kingdom which never has a shortage or lack of supply. Never.  Don’t be afraid, only believe! Believe that you are free from the curse; believe that your negativity died with Christ. Putt off the old foundations of your mind, and set your mind on things above.

Locate Yourself Correctly

By Josh Hunt

The gospel is the greatest message in the Cosmos! What God has done in Christ has ensured our happiness for all time! Are you enjoying the reality Jesus came to give you? Well, there’s nothing wrong with the message, there’s also nothing wrong with you. Often when preachers assert the validity of the message they preach, the person listening gets the blame; [read in angry preacher voice] “there’s nothing wrong with Jesus, there’s nothing wrong with the WORD, so the problem is with you!” But there is nothing wrong with you, in-fact, Jesus has made you right! The message and reality of the gospel is true. There’s nothing wrong with it and there’s nothing wrong with you, but allow me to ask you, are you enjoying it? Are you enjoying the glorious news of the New Covenant? Enjoying is imperative for, well, enjoying. Faith enjoying is a glorious way to see and enjoy the spiritual inheritance in the tangible! Are you enjoying? It’s so fun. Life with our Daddy is so exciting! His goodness overwhelming!

So many people are hearing the grace message, yet some are struggling to feel it in their emotions. Some are left saying; “Thank Jesus for the cross, but where is the joy?” There is a difference between intellectual assent and enjoying and believing the truth. Many are becoming free intellectually, and are feeling the benefits to an extent; however, in order to enjoy the full benefit, we must enjoy the reality by faith. It’s possible to learn the truth of new birth in Christ, but still locate ourselves in deadness. Worry, fear, anxiety, depression, are all signalling signs that we may be, at times, locating ourselves incorrectly. As Joseph Prince says; right believing produces right living. The same is true; wrong believing produces wrong emotions.

Don’t, ‘settle’ in the natural. Don’t be deceived into thinking and believing that what you see or feel has to be the benchmark for your life. Didn’t anyone tell you that when you became a believer you were joined to Christ, mortality was swallowed up by immortality! Your life is supernatural. You are supernatural! One with deity, Married to Majesty! Don’t try to ‘achieve’ in the supernatural. Don’t be deceived into thinking and believing that you have got to build a relationship with God in order to enjoy the gospel. Some people are so worn out through trying to attain happiness and joy through, prayer, fasting, ‘abiding’. No, didn’t anyone tell you that you are joined to Christ, Married to Majesty?! Don’t ‘settle’ in the natural, and don’t try to ‘achieve’ in the supernatural. Instead, ‘settle’ into the arms of Daddy God, and rest in what Jesus has ‘achieved’ for you! In other words, the key is to enjoy the gospel by faith!

You are not ordinary, so stop locating yourself in the ordinary! You are not a victim to your circumstance. It is not fitting for the wonderful (you), to locate themselves anywhere but heavenly realms. You may have spent your whole life locating yourself in the natural, believing you are less than who God say’s you are, but today, you can relocate! Maybe you’re struggling with negative circumstances? You have options you don’t know about!

It will help you to locate yourself correctly if you understand what grandeur you have been plugged into! You’ve got a great inheritance:

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3)

Union with the King of the Universe has its benefits! You are blessed, with every blessing God has! The Christian life is not a process of one becoming blessed, or receiving spiritual treasures. The Christian life starts with unequivocal wealth and blessing! The phrase “who has blessed” is one Greek word, eulogeō, meaning to ‘invoke a benediction upon’. In Christ, God has pronounced every pleasing blessing heaven has to offer on you! You have a great inheritance. Also, just because it says “spiritual blessing”, doesn’t mean that the blessings aren’t those that can translate to tangible realities. No, “spiritual” is telling us where these blessings are located. The treasure chest is in the spiritual realm.

You’ve also got a great identity:

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will”. (Ephesians 1:4-5)

You are something very special! The Spirit longs for you to know your royal identity. To see yourself as you are, located in Christ. These verses reveal so much about the believers great identity; 1) We are holy (hagios = “pure”, “saint”, free from sin, made holy at the core of being), 2) We are blameless (amōmos = “faultless”, “unblamable”, united to Jesus therefore forgiven and unpunishable), 3) We are before him (katenōpion = “directly in front of: before (the presence of)”, the NIV says “in his sight”, however, this isn’t just a Jesus-goggle thing, God doesn’t just see us as holy and blameless even though we’re really not. No, he has made us to be holy and blameless and seated us on his lap, we are before him, in his presence continually.) We are also, as Ephesians 1:4-5 goes on to say, “adopted as his sons”! You are declared to be God’s baby and given spiritual life and immortality!

And you’ve got great power:

“I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” (Ephesians 1:18-19)

Paul doesn’t pray that the mighty Spirit of God would make us weak vessels strong. No! Paul prays for the eyes of our hearts to be enlightened – enlightened to know that we have a great power on the inside of us. Enlightened to know that we are powerful, sharers of God’s great omnipotence!  My goodness the believer is powerful. You are packing so much glory and power. If you realised just how powerful you actually are you would never see yourself quite the same way. Agree with God. The Old Testament exhorts the weak to say that they are strong (Joel 3:10), but under the New Covenant God has made you strong; strong with his incomparable power and strength.

So, you have a great inheritance, a great identity, and a great power. But, are you locating yourself in the great? Are you enjoying truth? Right now, right here, where are you locating yourself? You see, even if you aren’t locating yourself in the gospel reality, it will still be true, you will still have a great inheritance, a great identity, and a great power, but you won’t be able to enjoy it to its fullness. You are designed, however, to experience heaven on earth. You will only be at home when you locate yourself in heavenly places. And through enjoying and locating yourself in heavenly places you will make your home like heaven!

Every one of us has a built in GPS system. We wake up in a morning and often allow our GPS to locate us in the natural, in our circumstances, in our wrong beliefs. As we continue to live on auto-pilot, we continue to allow ourselves to locate ourselves in the natural; this then produces negative feelings and emotions, a stability that is built on a unstable foundation. However, when we start to realise and engage with the other realm, the heavenly realm, we allow ourselves to locate ourselves in the heavenly realms. When we locate ourselves in the gospel reality, in Christ, we see the power and glory of God manifest in our outward lives, bringing the full force of our inheritance with it. We see heaven on earth! So, locate yourself correctly! Start to enjoy faith. Live your life with an enthusiastic awareness of the kiss of heaven. Locate yourself in heavenly places. Locate yourself in the gospel reality!
